RECYCLING PROJECT – IGNITING CREATIVITY FROM FAMILIAR MATERIALS

Target group: Children aged 25–36 months (nursery group).

General objectives: Stimulate curiosity and sensory exploration; become familiar with surrounding objects; identify the location of tools and toys.

Activity Details by Learning Area

Cognitive and Thinking Skills (STEAM)

Science

Children observe and describe external features of objects: colors; basic shapes (circle, square); textures (soft, hard, smooth, rough).

Technology

Use simple personal items (spoon, bowl, cup) and toy tools (toy binoculars, toy phone).

Engineering

Stack blocks; assemble simple parts to create models (e.g., stacking boxes into a tower).

Art (4 weeks)

  • Week 1: Singing with teacher
  • Week 2: Molding balls
  • Week 3: Singing and dancing with teacher
  • Week 4: Singing and dancing with teacher

Mathematics (4 weeks)

  • Week 1: Identify the color red
  • Week 2: Identify the color yellow
  • Week 3: Identify the color blue
  • Week 4: Review and distinguish red – yellow – blue

21st-Century Skills (4Cs)

  • Critical Thinking: Ask simple questions: “What is this?”, “What color?”, “Where?”, “What for?”, “Why?”
  • Creativity: Show curiosity and interest in new materials
  • Collaboration: Play alongside others, imitate peers’ actions; no hitting or scratching
  • Communication: Express needs and understanding in 1–2 short or longer sentences

Social, Emotional, and Physical Development

  • Real-life Connection: Practice handwashing, face washing; use the toilet in the right place
  • Initiative & Responsibility: Self-feed; dress/undress; wear slippers; manage spills or messes
  • Self-awareness: Drink water and eat independently

Physical Development (4 weeks)

  • Week 1: Crawl straight carrying an object on the back
  • Week 2: Crawl through a tunnel
  • Week 3: Walk following instructions
  • Week 4: Walk along a narrow path

Language and Literacy

  • Language: Listen to and understand songs, poems, short stories about school
  • Literature: Enjoy storytelling and poetry; look at book illustrations; memorize 1–2 short poems
  • Pre-Reading & Writing: Recognize images, colors, and letters
    • Week 1: Letter A
    • Week 2: Letter B
    • Week 3: Letter C
    • Week 4: Letter D
