PRESCHOOL GROUP (3–4 years) – Recycling Program to Spark Creativity
At the age of 3–4, children begin to understand simple cause-and-effect relationships and can carry out small “experiments” with a clear purpose. This program is designed with a STEAM approach and 21st-century skills (4Cs), helping children explore, collaborate, and confidently express themselves.
Activity Details by Learning Area

Cognitive and Thinking Skills (STEAM)
Science
Children observe and name tools and toys; learn to appreciate and take care of them.
Technology
Use magnifying glasses to observe small objects; turn on/off radios or speakers to hear natural sounds.
Engineering
Assemble and build simple functional models (e.g., a marble slide, a floating boat, a dollhouse).
Art (4 weeks)
- Week 1: Create class rules with the teacher
- Week 2: Singing and dancing
- Week 3: Draw or color pictures of the school/classroom
- Week 4: Singing and dancing
Mathematics (4 weeks)
- Week 1: Count objects up to 5 (and beyond as able)
- Week 2: Differentiate between 1 and many
- Week 3: Combine two groups of objects and count
- Week 4: Separate one group of objects into smaller groups
21st-Century Skills (4Cs)
- Critical Thinking: Ask “why” questions about phenomena (e.g., “Why are leaves green?”, “Why does the boat float?”).
- Creativity: Invent new ways to play with experiment materials; create science-based games.
- Collaboration: Interact with peers; share roles in group activities.
- Communication: Retell experiment steps; answer questions about observations.
Social, Emotional, and Physical Development
- Maintain personal hygiene; wash hands when dirty.
- Clean up toys after playing; organize personal items.
- Store items in the right place; take care of personal needs independently.
Physical Development (4 weeks)
- Week 1: Crawl in a straight direction
- Week 2: Crawl through a tunnel
- Week 3: Throw and catch a ball with the teacher
- Week 4: Throw far using one hand
Language and Literacy
Children can retell short parts of a story, recite a few lines of poetry, or express personal needs.
- Week 1: Learn a poem about the classroom
- Week 2: Listen to a story about the Festival of Lights
- Week 3: Practice retelling the Festival of Lights story
- Week 4: Confidently tell stories based on ability
Recognize images, colors, and letters in storybooks or flashcards; may be able to read a few simple words.
Conclusion
The Preschool group program fosters holistic development through recycling activities and STEAM experiences: children improve observation, learn cooperation, communicate clearly, and develop independence in daily routines.
