WHO AM I?

I am the proud daughter of two Philippine natives that was born and raised on the sunny coasts of Southern California. As a child I was always doodling and daydreaming of adventures in far-off places, and my interests in reading science fiction and fantasy novels reflected my desire to travel and meet new people from all over the world. In 2015 after finishing my degree in Comparative World Literature I decided to make those dreams a reality by moving abroad to teach English in Japan, and now, after 3 years in Vietnam, I have never looked back.

MY EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY:

I believe that motivation to learn means building an atmosphere that is inclusive, diverse, and welcoming of all learners from different experiences and cultures. I strive to promote this equality in my classroom through personalized, differentiated activities that encourage student autonomy and a desire to expand their knowledge while working towards a goal. Finally, I am a firm believer in improving one’s skills as an educator whether it be through professional development, collaboration, or reflection.

MY PRIORITIES AT FOSCO INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (FIS):

  • To teach every student with love, compassion, and sincere dedication that enables them to feel encouraged to learn and be unafraid to flourish both mentally and emotionally
  • To work alongside fellow FIS educators to ensure that the subjects we teach are up to standard and with every type of learner in mind
  • To uphold the long-term goals of FIS while keeping in mind its structures, polices, and values

FUN FACT:

  • I have a sizable collection of chopstick rests (hashioki) accumulated over my travels from many different
  • I have two dogs named Maxie and Suki, and a cat named Coco!
