Building a garden!

The goal is to build a structure that can carry a heavy object. The shape, strength of base, height, and resistance to deformation and cracking were all considered by the students. There are future engineers here!

FIS celebrated a meaningful Anti-bullying event today, Sept. 27th. Hosted and led by Mr. Fred, we had a parade showing off our fun and silly outfits that meant it is okay and not wrong to be different and that we can express ourselves without fear. We also played a game to differentiate what constitutes bullying, and an activity called the kindness paper chain that served as the students’ promise to stop bullying.

Mr. Michael Xia and Ms. Vicky Nguyen from McGraw-Hill Education paid a visit to FOSCO International School. They cordially talked about current and future support, feedback about our resources, collaboration, and opportunity for training. There was a discussion about what makes a strong and effective approach to Language Arts and Mathematics. In the meeting were Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc- Principal of Primary School and Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai- Principal of Kindergarten and Preschool along with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thin- School Librarian, and Ms. Susan Isip, Primary School Coordinator.

🌕 ✨ Mid-Autumn Festival Highlights ✨ 🌕 Our students, staff, and parents came together in vibrant traditional costumes to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in style! From mooncake making to creative lanterns, fruit arrangement contests, and Mid-Autumn story roleplays, the day was filled with fun and meaningful activities. 🎨🎶 The event not only captured the spirit of the festival but also enriched the students' love for the culture through dances, songs, and even a fashion show showcasing the beauty of tradition! 🌸 🍂  

FIS celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival on Friday, Sept 13th, to preserve, celebrate, and learn about Vietnamese culture and tradition. Also called Tết Trung Thu, the tradition focuses on kids after the busy harvest season. The festival is held under the full moon, symbolizing a full and prosperous life. Students, teachers, and staff donned on their traditional Vietnamese costumes, made lanterns lanterns and mooncakes, and had a parade with creative and colorful lanterns. The gradeschool children had the opportunity to express themselves in a creative and artistic way while developing teamwork. As part of the Mid-Autumn Festivities, designing a dragon head activity was a great reinforcement to storytelling and dragon/lion dance. The rich tradition of the season promised a great source of cognitive, creative, and social benefits to the children.

On the 10th of September 2024, a delegation from FOSCO, Service Company to Foreign Missions, visited the Consul General of the Republic of Cuba to Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc, Principal of FOSCO International School, led the visit to the residence of Mdm. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of the Republic of Cuba to Ho Chi Minh City. This is the highlight of the cooperative relations between FOSCO and consular offices as well as keeping close relationships between FIS and families of students.
