Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc, Principal of FOSCO International School, led the visit to the residence of Mdm. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of the Republic of Cuba to Ho Chi Minh City. This is the highlight of the cooperative relations between FOSCO and consular offices as well as keeping close relationships between FIS and families of students. The Consul General’s son, Garcia Feo Axel, is currently a student at the FOSCO International School. At the meeting, Consul General Labrada expressed her great satisfaction concerning the quality of education and care provided by FIS. She also expressed much joy upon seeing the progress that Axel made in his studies and social development. Axel is not just a bright student but has also shown much confidence and enthusiasm in afterschool activities and has integrated well into FIS’ multi-cultural academic environment. The Consul General is also especially impressed with the quality of FIS’s staff and teachers. She emphasized that the current academic development of Axel is made possible by the professionalism and dedication of the teachers and staff. From this high degree of trust, Mdm. Labrada committed to introduce FOSCO International School to her colleagues, friends and other members of the Cuban community in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, she also wished that FIS establish more campuses in other districts as well as in Ha Noi if possible to address the demand from prospective student. This is not only an acknowledgement for FIS but also a gesture of encouragement for the school’s continuing academic excellence. At the meeting, the representatives from the FOSCO International School reported on Axel’s academic and social development, highlighting the results and achievements attained. Concurrently, FIS also provided information on upcoming events and afterschool activities seeking to further develop student’s soft skills and knowledge. In addition, with the recent outbreak of Measles in Ho Chi Minh City, FIS’ representatives have discussed solutions and methods to coordinate between the school and parents to best protect the health of students. FIS emphasized again that the monitoring of students’ health and implementation of preventive measures are of crucial importance. The school will continue to work closely with the parents of students to provide the best care available and guarantee a safe and wholesome learning environment. The meeting was conducted in a warm, friendly, and open way. The delegation from FIS offered the Consul General some souvenirs and took commemorative photos. This is not merely a work session but also proof of close relations and trust between the international community in Ho Chi Minh City and FIS as an institution providing care and education for children.

The Grade 4 and 5 students embraced the rich tradition of mooncake-making for the Mid-Autumn Festival! In ancient times, these delicious treats were made as an offering to the moon. It also means unity and prosperity. Today, our students continue this tradition, learning both the skill and the cultural meaning behind every mooncake. We are so thankful to and proud of Chef Quoc Anh who taught the rudiments of making mooncakes.

In a delightful fusion of culture and learning

In a delightful fusion of culture and learning, our kindergarten captains took a culinary journey with the school's chef to prepare for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. With tiny hands and big smiles, they learned the basic steps of crafting traditional mooncakes. Guided by the chef, the Kindergarteners mixed ingredients, shaped dough, and filled their creations with a salted egg yolk. Their mooncakes are not only a tasty reward but also a heartfelt celebration of culture, making this Mid-Autumn Festival truly unforgettable for these young chefs.
