International Day at FOSCO International School

As global citizens, we encourage our students to be aware and understand diversity in our world. To support our mission of cultivating world knowledge through culture, we hosted our annual International Day at FOSCO International School on January 26th, 2024.

We began the day with “We are One Assembly.” Students dressed up to represent countries around the world and some explained their interesting outfits to the school. Students were introduced to "Luta de Gallo" or "fight of the roosters," a kid's game from Brazil. Students from all grades were able to participate and they had a blast! We were enamored by our very own Grade 5 student, Laksh's and his classmates' Bollywood dance! They performed it for us first and then they taught the fun dance moves to the entire school! We all danced with joy! After, students enjoyed cute donuts and juice for snack before playing a game of pass the egg with a spoon game. Teamwork was definitely needed for this one!

After our assembly, preschool students went to the preschool playground and participated in fun hands-on activities like making a cherry blossom tree using clay, and making a fox mask. Primary students separated into mixed grade groups and joined various stations around our campus. They made boomerangs, built a clay model of the Colosseum, an Eiffel Tower out of marshmallows and toothpicks, Sakura trees using tissue paper, a cardboard pyramid, and played a Brazilian soccer activity. Overall, all stations required students to work well together, learn about different countries and cultures, whilst having a fun time.

We are so proud of this year's International Day and we would like to thank all of our parents who came to support our students. Thank you and Happy International Day!

Women’s Day Extravaganza!

Women’s Day Extravaganza! Our 5th graders had a productive and creative day making Seaweed Roll Omelette and Cheese Omelette, and working on sewing projects to give to their moms, grannies, and the wonderful ladies in our school. One question we kept hearing: “Ms. Susan, how much is a Brother sewing machine?” I think they discovered the magic of sewing and the joy of being productive—maybe even dreaming of having a sewing machine at home! The students made scrunchies for the teachers, purses and pillows for their moms and grandmothers, as well as lunch box bags for the principal.
