Kindergarten and Grade 5 Virtual Graduations of the Schoolyear 2020 – 2021

Kindergarten and Grade 5 Virtual Graduations of the Schoolyear 2020 – 2021

FOSCO International School successfully held a virtual graduation for the Kindergarteners last June 11, 2021. The program gracefully began with “A Million Dreams” song that was sung by the little learners followed by their teacher’s cordial welcoming of guests. The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Do Thi Kim Yen-Chief Secretariat of FOSCO Company, the Board of FIS Management Team, Ms. Ha Thi Le Khanh – Primary Principal, Ms. Ngo Thi Anh Phuong-Primary Vice Principal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc – Preschool Principal, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai – Preschool Vice Principal, Mr. Jorge Medrano – FIS Academic Director, Mr. Nick Avila – former FIS Academic Director, all teachers, valued parents and the ten kindergarten graduates. The beloved kindergarteners were very pleased to pay attention to Mr. Jorge’s opening speech wherein he generally recognized the efforts of the graduates and emphasized how much they are cared and loved by their parents and teachers.

It was an emotional milestone that brought smiles and tears to doting family members who can’t believe that this special year is already over. To refresh the graduates of their memories in school, they were thrown trivia questions to name the hidden photo in a slide. Of course, the bright kinders identified all pictures and nailed that virtual game! There were many challenges this school year, yet each learner in this class had kept great memories in their hearts. Ms. Dinh Le My Y facilitated this part of the program in which she asked each learner to share his/her favorite event or favorite subject. Each graduate smartly shared the meaningful events and learnings they had in school. It was then followed by awarding of medals and certificates to the Kindergarten Graduates. On their green togas and caps, each of them was called to stand as their achievements are recognized by Mr. Jorge and literally receive their certificates and put on their medals from their parents at home. To grace the event more, four girls in class rendered a Vietnamese song entitled, “Tam Biet Bup Be “. After which the Kindergarten Principal and Vice Principal recognized and gave outstanding awards to selected graduates.

As the Kinder graduates are about to venture on a new journey, they were privileged to take heed and bring with them words of wisdom and well wishes from their former Academic Director, Dance Instructor, Music Teacher, Kindergarten Teachers – Ms. Y and Ms. Olive and of course, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Truc (Kindergarten Principal) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai (Vice Principal). All these little learners are very grateful for everyone who have been part of their learning journey in preschool years and in that virtual ceremony they’ve shown their thankfulness by crossing their arms and bowing their head as they say, “Thank You” to their Moms, Dads and teachers. The ceremony concluded with screenshots and a song named, “Goodbye Kindergarten”.

Moreover, the Grade 5 Virtual Graduation was livestreamed on youtube. It was a privilege to have Mr. Nguyen Tuong Minh (General Director of FOSCO Company. They were elegantly dressed in their Graduation gowns and caps and they were proudly seated with their equally dashing parents.

The students and parents got a real treat. “I appreciate the effort of FIS. At first, the parents thought that at least, there is something arranged but what we saw was amazing, fantastic, well-organized, well-prepared, formal, friendly, fun, cozy, and creative as FIS normally does,” said Ms Nguyen Hoai Thu, a Grade 5 parent in her speech at the end of the event. Ms Danan Diahsatriani, another parent who is the wife of Mr. Musa Derek from the Indonesian Consulate said, “It was a wonderful and meaningful graduation which they were able to share with family and friends and we recommend FIS to our friends in HCMC.

The 5th Graders were the MCs and they made amazing speeches, shared their Memorable  Moments, wowed everyone with their intermission numbers on the piano, sang songs, played Kahoot Trivia game, and  watched class videos and Year-In-review video clips.

The other highlights of the occasion were the encouraging and heartwarming speeches of Ms. Ha Thi Le Khanh – Primary Principal, Ms. Ngo Thi Anh Phuong-Primary Vice Principal, Mr. Jorge Medrano, Academic Director, and wishes from Mr. Nick Avila, former Academic Director, and Ms Susan Isip who exhorted them to be open to be molded like a beautiful piece of pottery and sculpted like a block of wood into a useful receptacle.

Congratulations to the Kindergartners and 5th Graders for their great achievements!  They will surely succeed in the Primary School and Middle School respectively! They have grown so much, mentally and physically. We are so proud of them! They’ve proven to be strong, brave and resilient during this pandemic. They will be officially stepping into another milestone of their lives. We are so honored to be their school and wish them continued success in Middle School! Thank you Kindergartners and Grade 5! You are our heroes! We love you! Happy Graduation!
