Our school had a very special experience  - we visited Chuc Tu Orphanage

This morning our school had a very special experience  - we visited Chuc Tu Orphanage on Dien Bien Phu street, to donate money and gifts raised from our Winter Bake Sale. The orphanage is home to 80 students - the oldest being about six years old and the youngest being tiny little babies.

Before visiting, it was difficult to know what to expect; our class talked about how some children don’t have parents (or a family) and how lucky we are to have people in our lives who love and care for us.

Generally speaking, the children in the orphanage seemed happy and playful; we sang songs, played games and listened to the story of how the children ended up there. Seeing the the little babies must have been challenging for our students, but it’s a very valuable lesson to be reminded of how precious life is and how lucky we are to learn at a school like Fosco and have families that love us.
