The 5th Graders Science

In Science, the 5th Graders are learning about how humans affect and change ecosystems. We realized that many human activities harm the environment like too much use of plastic. An example is that sometimes, for a little item bought in the convenience store, they put them in a plastic bag. It must also be the responsibility of people to use reusable bags like the tote bags we made in class so that we can protect the environment from the effects of too much use of plastic. The 5th Graders made tote bags by upcycling old T-Shirts. They want to send a message that people can use personal, reusable tote bags when they go to the convenience store. They also wrote letters to the managers of convenience stores to not give out too much plastic. Re-educating the people not to use plastic or using reusable tote bags can be a big help to save our environment. It was a fun, engaging project that the students were passionate about. They learned how to sew using a sewing machine. The other tote bags were no-sew style by tying fringes on the bottom.
