Santa came to FIS! Our Bake Sale and Winter Art Gallery for orphans in HCMC was a huge success! Thank you to our wonderful FOSCO neighbors, parents, and friends who supported our students' caring cause by purchasing their handmade treats. Students were extremely elated by giving back to the community, and we are so proud of their accomplishments! Grade 5 and Grade 4 students have learned from a very young age that giving back to the community is how we can be responsible and productive citizens. This week, they joined forces and made over 100 cookies and milk tea to help fundraise funds to support an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City. Together, they made cookies and milk tea from scratch, and made the packaging! Today, Thursday, December 14th, they traveled to our FOSCO Head Quarters and set up a Christmas Bake Sale Station. Recess time is so fun and a great way for our students to build their social skills. Students from various grades play together and invent their own games! It's wonderful seeing our students using their creativity all the time. Kids are the absolute best!

Rin, Ran! Rin, Ran! Arroz Con Leche (Rice Pudding) is one of Cuba's famous food in which they also made a song. In class, the children learned how to dance and play with Ms. Ariadne - Axel's mother, who took the time off from her busy schedule to teach the children this lovely song. Christmas is a time for sharing, and this Friday morning, students shared in another fun parent activity: making paper Christmas trees! Our Chiến Thắng and his kind mother, Ms. Như, shared their artistic skills with the class! We are so thankful to Ms. Như for spending time with our beloved Grade 2. Thank you!

We love STEAM Time! Not only do we learn about the sciences, but we also have fun working together while showcasing teamwork! The Grade 2 students made two Botzee robots, and had fun learning the basics of coding. We also had a friendly race! We can't wait to try out the Botzees again!

Our avid readers read a fun story celebrating Christmas: Gingerbread Mouse, by Katy Bratun. The students were then tasked to make a gingerbread house that would fit the mouse; they did a wonderful job! We love bringing stories to life in Book Club!

The Grade 5 students made Botzee whimper, race, and move about! Next time around, we will make a program for a special Botzee-Quest!
